On Sept. 11 of this year, the state Supreme Court ruled the Education Scholarship Trust Fund unconstitutional. Hundreds of families and students that had received the scholarship were left in the midst of uncertainty. However, the state Legislature promised to address the problem as soon as session starts again in Jan.
On Dec. 10 at 10 a.m., a subcommittee of the Senate Education committee will meet to discuss how to best address this problem and reinstate this program to give families more academic freedom in South Carolina.
