This week, the S.C. House is scheduled to debate S. 120: nondisclosure for firing squad and lethal injections.
S. 120 removes all state licensing processes and conditions for drugs manufactured for capital punishment. The bill also violates principles of transparency by blocking Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for procurement procedures. This egregiously inhumane act would subject individuals to receive unlicensed, untested and unauthorized chemicals.
Every human person is created in the image and likeness of God. This essential dignity bestowed upon us is not lost even after the commission of very serious crimes. Respect for life is, and must remain, unconditional.
Capital punishment is an attack on the fundamental dignity of human life. Click HEREto send a letter to you representative and ask them to vote NO on S.120.
