Sen. Thomas Alexander, president of the S.C. Senate, has called legislators back into session on Oct. 18 to take action on House Bill 5399: the Human Life Protection Act.
This is a crucial step — for the first time in 50 years, the S.C. General Assembly has the opportunity to uphold life and greatly limit the abortion in our state, with the narrowly drawn exceptions for life of mother, rape and incest.
The S.C. Catholic Conference thanks Sen. Alexander for his leadership and providing a path forward to upholding life in our state. Please consider contacting Sen. Alexander to offer your thanks.
The Catholic Conference will continue to update you on the progress of House Bill 5399. We pray that our state senators will vote to uphold life!
